Sharaku and Hokusai's decorative techniques are the same
Shunrou (Hokusai) [offering a pail of water]
Last time, I showed
that Shunrou's [offering a pail of water ]is constructed with extended
circles of umbrella bones.
The largest circles that make the bones of the umbrella are also used for several cohesive structures.
The biggest circles
make not only the umbrella bones but
also
the pattern of the kimono of the person on the
right.
The arcs of the second largest circles are effectively used in the female figure on the left.
The second largest purple circle not only makes the bottom of the checker
pattern of the wrestler on the left, but makes the lower hem of the right
person’s kimono.
A good painting is architectural.
The invisible foundation structure is planed beforehand.
The smallest visible unit is an arc, and a circle that is an extension of it forms the foundation structure.
The decorative circular structural devices that puts the parts together can be classified.
A) Umbrella bone structure
B) Broom star structure
C) Torn mesh
D) Parallel to horizontal or vertical lines
It becomes clear that the working methods are related from Shunrou to Sharaku and Hokusai.
The Sharaku multi-person theory does not hold.
The late styles are not inferior, but an experimental work of a different
technique.
