new art theory based on huge amount of digital images


This work can probably only be seen by people who have a habit of searching for interesting works on the Internet.

So far, I have not found any reviews for this work.                                              It seems that prints are often ignored as artwork.

According to Shklovsky's theory of art, the content of art is the method.

As almost all reviews have been written without understanding the content: the method, this may be first theoretical writing about Arp's work.


 After analyzing the techniques of the overwhelmingly large number of digital image works, the meaning of art is going to be clear for the first time.

As digital images are works of art in your daily life,

anyone in any country can see hundreds of times more works than experts who only look at real things.

The greatness of Arp finally comes into view.

 According to the Alfred Bar diagram, it is said that modern art converges into non-geometrical art and geometrical art.

Once you realize that the smallest unit of shape is a line segment, you can recognize the work by looking at the visible properties of shape quantitatively.

All masterpieces become geometrical.


At first glance, it looks like this work could be made with a rubber ring,

but you can imagine making a model out of wire. 

You will notice that there are parts with different degrees of curvature. 

It is likely that these parts can be made of arcs of circles of different sizes. 

This model will be called the arc model. 

If the part is an arc of a circle, then the constructing method is to invent patterns with circles. 

Art making is inventing ways to create new shapes.

An AI robot with no artistic appreciation ability can mechanically select works that are harmonious and balanced.

  My daily image search for Matisse's drawings reveals that  there is a mixture of casually drawn pieces and well-balanced pieces, but they are easily distinguishable with taste judgement. The latter type is often lithograph. Recently I found something a little unfamiliar.      Henri Matisse, Plate 153. Florilège des Amours de Ronsard, 1948 At first glance, their hairstyles are almost same and they are facing right but they are different in size. The two shapes are just barely on the right,  so it looks like Matisse is trying for best one profile, but if you look closely, it's a pretty well-balanced composition. I can guess that this to be carefully crafted.   Harmony can be achieved by using only arcs of a limited number of circles, and balance can be adjusted by bundling those circles together.  Only a limited number of artists who know about this technique are already using it.  Conversely, an AI robot without artistic appreciat...

Picasso "Female Nude with Arms Raised"　1907 in the Sainsbury Collection ; more interesting than Les Demoiselles D’Avignon

In the previous blog "Cézanne, Seurat and Beardsley arrived at the same technique", I wrote two conditions of modern art from the level of formalism: Constructing with only arcs of a few circles of different sizes creates harmony.
