Conditions for art theory to be science
Genuine art theory should be able to explain all artworks using the same principles.
Great artworks are made of the same elements that can be distinguished visually.
Each hole in the vertical flute, said to be the world's oldest musical instrument, produce a different sound. A series of different sounds is a melody line.
Likewise,
a good drawing line is a series of line segments with distinct bents.
Lines
with different bents are arcs of different circles.
You
can create a picture structure using circles of different sizes.
This is called an arc-circle model.
Any artwork
can be expressed as arc circle model.
Philosopher of science Karl Popper defined science as "a scientific theory must be capable of being disproved by experiment (objective data).
So far, in the previous blog I have shown numerous examples (objective data): how all masterpieces are created with the same method based on visual grammar: ancient Greek vase painting, renaissance painting, Persian painting, c early ukiyo-e, Cezanne, modern art etc.
This time I will introduce a 5th century Byzantine mosaic that perfectly shows that technique.
I already have two camel drawings in my digital art collection.

What these models have in common is that a limited number of circles create harmony, and the structure of circles makes
balance.
Each structure creates its own unique shape.
The practical purpose of painting was illustration.
It is rare that drawing technique contains any part of the science
of art.
Majority of pictures are like impure ores.
A true artist is one who recognizes this and succeeds in utilizing it.
The greatness of Cezanne's paintings was noticed by his contemporary
impressionist friends.
Their level of understanding was limited to still life and landscapes, and
they neglected bathers' paintings.
When Picasso realized the importance of shape as a pure element of a painting,
he devised the technique of monochrome Cubism.
Matisse's first interest was also in Cezanne's bathers' paintings.
Seeing shapes alone is the beginning of visual grammar.
