Structural analysis of Fernand Leger's [Bathers] and [Polychrome flower] Ⅰ
I haven't written about Léger as a modern artist until now.
This time I tried a google image search.
There are far more unfamiliar paintings
than I find in my art books.
Our time is the era of digital image art: free from commercial art world.
I will make arc models of two works by Léger.

The first sign of modern art is the emphasis on curvature.
Any refined drawing will consist only arcs of limited circles.
It can be seen in
the works of Van Gogh and Gauguin in their later period, which is one of the formal characteristics of post-Impressionism.
We find this characteristic
more clearly in the late works of Cézanne and Seurat.
Cezanne [6 Bathers] lithograph arc model
It is one of the most completed bathing paintings.
The work is colored lithograph and signed.
Seurat [Grand Judd]arc model
This painting must have a solid design underneath ready for coloring in pointillistic manner.
I collected arc models in my previous
blog “every
harmonious masterpiece is made of arcs Harunobu [Momijimai] 2 ark model”.
I pick up only modern artworks here.
Matisse, who was one of the first to realize the importance of Cézanne's bather paintings, painted large dance paintings.
