One of the necessary conditions for a masterpiece in the AI era is uniqueness of each artwork

When you pick up a Picasso catalog raisonné, you'll find that works like "Les Demoiselles d'Avignon'' in the museum aren't necessarily masterpieces.

The selection of works in museums is simply because they had the opportunity to acquire them.

Critics and the general public have praised the collection because it is easy to see.

When I was in New York, gallery shows weren't very interesting.

Instead, I enjoyed going to the Strand bookstore once or twice a day and looking for art books.

Now, every time I open Twitter five or six times a day, I find new images and copy them.

There is no need to see the original work.

A masterpiece is a work that is copied for seeing the image again and again.

When you start thinking about where and how the joy of viewing comes from, you become a critic.

I have written several blogs about Picasso.

All of the digital image I used for this purpose was found online.

Nowadays, it can be said that digital images are practically work of art.

Better art criticism must be based on the whole artworks which are available as digital image.

The decorative works made by generative AI on the internet have a high degree of perfection. lack unique structure of being only one.

AI produced artworks lack unique structure of being only one.

A second Sagrada Familia cannot be built.

I've read that the problem with David Cole's generator is that it produces too many good Bach.

A masterpiece must have a unique structure.

This time, I will show you two models to help identifying the characteristics of unique works.

The painting by Juan Gris that I have been analyzing recently, #537

 has outstanding characteristics.

Though there are more than 600 works in Gris's Spanish art book,

it stands out so you can easily find it.

Let's take two of the models.

Juan Gris "#537"

whole circle-arc model

The reason why it attracts attention is the seven arcs are coming out of the center of the picture.

There is another model for checking the uniqueness: the string model.
As I have already written several blogs about the model, I pick up one.
The left side is "Pink Nude", and the right is one of the studies.

In order to invent novel, high-quality pictures,

it is first necessary to know how much invention has been made in the past.

It is impossible to create new music without knowing the techniques invented by Bach.

To figure out how to do it, you have to study musical scores.

Since there was no equivalent to musical scores in plastic arts, artistic production after modern art tapered off.

So, founding shape-grammar is essential to start.

Classifying the whole artworks comes the second.

Then masterpieces should show how uniqueness is created intentionally.
